Founder

Matt is a seasoned recruitment professional with over two decades of experience in the industry. Originally from the UK, he has called Japan home since the early 2000s. Matt’s journey has seen him excel in a variety of leadership roles, including Director at a Robert Walters in Tokyo, where he led a high-performing IT Recruitment team while serving as a trusted partner to top-tier firms like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

Throughout his career, Matt has held key positions such as Head of Talent for Japan, Head of APAC and Global Head of Talent Acquisition. His expertise lies in crafting tailored recruitment strategies, including bespoke search and "recruiter-on-demand" solutions, making him a go-to advisor for startup and scale up businesses across Japan and the APAC region. With a deep skill-set spanning executive search, talent acquisition, and specialist recruitment process outsourcing (RPO), Matt brings a unique perspective shaped by his experience on both the vendor and client sides of the table.

Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing & Human Resource Management and a Diploma in Design Thinking & Business Design. Based in central Tokyo, he is a proud father of three and enjoys immersing himself in Japanese culture, supporting his children’s bilingual education, and occasionally making time for masters-level soccer.
